The Immigration Company ("we", "us", "our", or "Company") operates the website www.immigration-company.com (the "Website") and related products and services, including our AI enabled legal and workflow platform (the "Product"). The Product supports immigration related legal services, documentation, and case management, including information collected and uploaded by users, attorneys, and authorized representatives (together, the "Services"). The Website and Product are collectively the "Platform".
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and share it, the choices you have, and the safeguards we maintain. By accessing or using the Platform, or by clicking a consent checkbox where presented, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy does not override attorney client privilege or confidentiality obligations that may apply to legal services. Where those obligations are more protective, they continue to apply.

This Privacy Policy applies to personal data we process when you:

- engage us or our affiliated counsel to provide legal or related services (where applicable)
2. Definitions
User, you, your means any individual who visits, accesses, or uses the Platform.
Customer means an entity, organization, or individual that purchases, subscribes to, or otherwise uses the Product.
Controller means the party that determines the purposes and means of processing personal data.
Processor means the party that processes personal data on behalf of a Controller.
Personal Data means information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
3. Roles and how to contact us
When we process data on behalf of a Customer, we generally act as a Processor, and the Customer generally acts as the Controller. In those cases, the Customer is responsible for establishing a lawful basis for processing and for responding to requests from end users, subject to applicable law and any contractual commitments.
When we collect data directly from you for our own purposes, we generally act as a Controller.

4. Personal Data we collect
Depending on how you use the Platform, we may collect the following categories of Personal Data.

We may collect receipt numbers as personally identifiable information (PII). We use receipt numbers to retrieve application status updates through the Case Status API so we can provide you with current case status information.

- provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Platform and Services
- verify identity and user access, and prevent fraud or misuse
- prepare, support, and manage immigration related workflows, including completing forms and assembling filings as directed by you or a Customer
- communicate with you, including sending service related messages and responding to requests
- process payments and maintain accounting, tax, and audit records (if applicable)
- comply with legal, regulatory, and professional obligations
- enforce our terms, protect our rights, and maintain the safety and integrity of our systems
- create aggregated or de identified data for analytics, product improvement, and development of AI systems, as described in Section 8
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate, analyze, and improve the Platform. Cookies are small data files stored on your device. We may use session cookies and persistent cookies.
We may use:
- Essential cookies for authentication, security, and core functionality

We retain Personal Data for as long as necessary to provide the Platform and Services, comply with legal and professional obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the nature of the data, the context in which it was collected, and applicable legal requirements. Where feasible, we delete or de identify Personal Data upon verified request, subject to retention obligations.
10. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Personal Data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Personal Data may be stored on third party infrastructure.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on your jurisdiction and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection to processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

12. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sharing. You may submit requests to info@immigration-company.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
13. Links to third party sites
The Platform may contain links to third party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and your use of those third party services is governed by their policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Platform and update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
